Ultrasound Applications

Early pregnancy diagnosis

The use of rectal ultrasound scanning can carefully observe the early embryos of dairy cows and make accurate pregnancy diagnosis according to the image characteristics of different periods, and it will not cause damage to the mother and the fetus. Generally speaking, it is better to use 5.0MHz or 7.5MHz probe.

Ultrasonic detection of cow embryos and fetuses showed that discontinuous non-reflective cells appeared in the uterine cavity from 12 to 14 days after breeding, that is, blastocysts with liquid accumulation; afterwards, the blastocysts gradually increased, and by 20 days, blastocyst structures appeared The embryo body is short and straight; at 22 days, the embryo body heartbeat can be detected; at 22 to 30 days, the embryo body is C-shaped.

Determine fetal sex

According to the morphological differences of fetal gender, ultrasound can be used to determine the fetal xing type. Specifically, it can be judged based on the fetal reproductive nodules or scrotum and breast.

During fetal differentiation, reproductive nodules move from the beginning of the hind legs to the umbilical cord in males, and toward the tail in females. During identification, the umbilicus, hind legs and tail area should be carefully explored to confirm the marked parts of the head, pulsating heart, umbilical cord and so on. The best identification time is 50 to 60 days after pregnancy. Identification can be carried out under production conditions, but requires considerable experience.

Embryology ultrasound imaging

Ultrasound can be used to estimate gestational age, monitor fetal growth, and diagnose pregnancy disorders. All parts of the fetus such as the eyeball, stomach, and ribs can be detected. In order to determine the development of each organ, the position of the probe should be adjusted to obtain the maximum scanning tomography. Correlation coefficient of each tissue growth can also be calculated according to gestational age. In short, the gestational age and the degree of growth and development can be determined according to the size of each organ of the fetus, and the birth period can be accurately predicted accordingly to facilitate production management.

Ultrasound image of postpartum uterus

Postpartum uterine ultrasound images showed that when the uterine restoration was completed, the uterus size and endometrial thickness were reduced to a fixed size. 28 to 40 days after delivery, the uterus rejuvenation is complete. The time to complete uterine rejuvenation varies, mainly due to factors such as sample size, parity and management level. Difficult delivery during childbirth can also cause a delay in uterine aging. Visible ultrasound image is an effective way to monitor uterine aging.
